Link Fest

Stuff to look at and read:

My friend sent me this link from UrbanDictionary.com after we were discussing how much we hate dating. Seems pretty accurate to me: Dating

I recently got back in touch with a friend of mine from high school. He shares my love of old-school rap. His is a little dirtier than mine, but just as entertaining. Check it out... BOOOOOOYYYYYYYY PlatNumPETE

HOTlanta

Atlanta was fun. Ross was a great host. He showed me around a lot of the city, pointing out places I may want to live. We spent saturday night at a rotating bar at the top of the tallest hotel downtown. Great view, but I did get a little dizzy after awhile.

While Atlanta is not a "typical" southern city, it still had some vibes about it. Like things were a little less liberal and a little less open-minded, and sexism, racism, homophobia, etc is a little more accepted. So THAT'S a little scary to me, but it's a big place with lots of northern imports, so I think I would be fine there.

I got a great offer from the company i interviewed with, but i have one last interview to do next week in San Jose. We'll see how it goes, but by FRIDAY I will know where I will be working. YAY. Finally. I'm just tired of being in flux.

whewhooo

Wow. It's been a crazy couple weeks. I've been interviewing like mad, which is both exciting and exhausting. I been to Seattle and Hartford and am leaving for Atlanta on friday. I got an offer, which is great, but almost scarier than NOT having a job because now I have like 2 weeks to decide what I want to do and where I want to be. I really want to settle down somewhere. Not neccessarily get married and have babies, but just be able to buy nice furniture and relax a while.

On a different note, that hiking trip I took a few weeks ago really messed up my knee. I thought I had some ligament damage because I had so much pain and it wasn't really improving, but it turns out I'm just weak. According to my PT, my muscles in my right leg and butt are really weak, probably due to grad school gym slacking. That ginormous hike I did killed me because all the stress of those steep hills was absorbed by my knee joint because my muscles weren't strong enough to bear that much impact. Ouch. So I can apparently never slack off at the gym again if I want to stay painfree and somewhat active.

Anyways, 4 weeks til I officially graduate! I'm excited but sad to leave Pittsburgh. I've really grown to love it here.
